Lunenburg County Community Fund (LCCF) operates under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia (CFNS), a public foundation and registered charity. The CFNS provides financial and investment management and other administrative services to LCCF.
LCCF is governed by a local Board whose members serve renewable two year terms. New Board members are appointed by the Board to serve starting October 1st of each year. New Board members are selected based on their skills and talents in addition to their geographic area.
LCCF Board seeks to have representation from each of the following areas: Chester Municipality - one north of the 103 Highway and one from the Chester area; one from the New Germany area, one from the Mahone Bay area, one from the Lunenburg area, one from the Bridgewater area and one at large member from the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg.
Our Financial Framework
LCCF has two distinct funds within the CFNS: a long term endowment fund and a short term flow-through fund. Both funds are capitalized by donations from residents and non–residents as well as businesses and corporations. All donor information remains confidential and donor wishes are acknowledged and respected. CFNS provides all tax receipting and reporting for the LCCF, is governed by the rules and regulations of the Canada Revenue Agency for charitable foundations and is able to issue official tax receipts for donations received from both Canadian and American donors. In-kind contributions are accepted as well.
